New Year, New Shows

Amid all the holiday bustle (finding the perfect spike for the family eggnog, defending Christmas from strawmen, engineering the mistletoe helmet, etc.) it's easy to lose sight of what's really important -- upcoming shows at the Rialto Theatre.

To help guide you along at this busy, sensitive time, we at the Rialto have put together a convenient "list" of upcoming events on what is known in the computer world as a "web-site," which you are reading presently. So welcome to the world of "techno-logy;" we're glad you visited us along the way. Forthwith, a list of what's truly Important: live musical engagements at the Rialto, or in the common man's parlance, "shows."

Jan 6th: Mike Jones
Jan 16th: Collective Soul
Jan 19th: Avenged Sevenfold
Jan 20th: Evening at the Appalachian Vanguard, featuring readings from a new book by Jeff Biggers and musicians Lisa Otey, Tom Walbank, and Tim Wiedenkeller
Jan 21st: Chamillionaire
Jan 28th: Violent Femmes
Feb. 3rd: Statesboro
Feb. 4th: Michael Franti and Spearhead
Feb. 5th: Michael Franti and film "I Know I'm Not Alone"

plus lots more to be named!!!!!!

New Year's Eve at Rialto

The Rialto is pleased to announce the confirmation of our New Year's Eve engagement with comedian Robert Schimmel, on Saturday, December 31st (of course).

Schimmel has a storied comedy career dating back to an appearance on the 1986 Rodney Dangerfield "Young Comedian's Special" on HBO. He's regarded as a comic's comic, and takes pride in working blue. So we'd advise you to steer clear of this New Year's Eve engagement if you're easily offended. However, if filth such as was heard in the recent film The Aristocrats is your bag of tea, then Schimmel is the comic for you.

This show will get underway at 10:30 pm and Schimmel himself will help us all ring in the New Year. We hope to see you down here for an evening of disturbing, sickening, and most importantly, hilarious entertainment. Reserved seat tickets are on sale NOW!!!
