Shorty Stubbs, may you rest in peace

We at the Rialto would like to express our deep sense of regret and sadness at the loss of one of Tucson’s finest. Chris “Shorty Stubbs” Jones was an avid supporter of the arts, a top notch DJ at KXCI, a musician, and a friend. His passion for music and his selfless dedication to it, whether through his weekly “Country Fringe” roots and twang show on KXCI or by volunteering his time at events too numberable to mention made him an invaluable and irreplaceable part of our community. The Rialto will sorely miss his presence and his influence on this great local music scene of ours.

A memorial concert for Shorty will be held on Sunday, September 30 at the Hut at 5 p.m. We encourage you to attend and celebrate his life with friends and family.

Just added -- Old Crow Medicine Show

We're pleased to announce that the impossible-to-pigeonhole roots rock powerhouse Old Crow Medicine Show will finally find their way to the Rialto Theatre on Monday, November 12th. This Nashville outfit has an amazing story, going from their origins as a ramshackle juggernaut of glorious busking to headlining (and selling out) the famous Ryman Auditorium in their hometown of Nashville in the span of about a decade.

As near as we can reckon, this is their first Tucson stop, and we're thrilled that it's here at Rialto.

Tickets go onsale Friday, September 21st at 10 a.m.

Rodrigo y Gabriela have cancelled

We regret to inform you that the Rodrigo y Gabriela concert scheduled for Saturday, September 8th, has been cancelled. Refunds are available at the point of purchase.

However, due to a high sales volume, this process may take up to five days.

The reason we were given is that Gabriela is suffering from exhaustion. Other tour dates in Tempe, Anaheim, San Diego and Austin, TX have been cancelled as well.

We hope to reschedule the show as soon as possible.
