JUST ANNOUNCED: Matisyahu with K'Naan & Dub Trio 6/11
Matisyahu hit it big a couple years ago with a huge record "Youth", and has been touring to huge headlining and festival crowds ever since. He's featured on a new Crystal Method (performing here on 5/24, coincidentally) single called "Drown In The Now" (get it here for free!)
K'Naan apparently killed it over the weekend at Coachella, and we're excited he and Dub Trio are on the bill.
Tickets go on sale Friday, May 1 at 10am via the usual channels: online, by phone at 740-1000, or at our box office M-F, 12-6.

Come See WILCO'S Film "Ashes of American Flags" April 30
If you haven't noticed already, we're pretty excited for Wilco in June at Centennial.
To get our Wilco fix early and to temporarily subside our anticipation, we will be screening the new film Ashes of American Flags , presenting Wilco live in concert during the 2008 tour. Culled from concerts in five quintessentially American venues - Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa, Tipitina's in New Orleans, The Mobile Civic Center in Mobile, The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and the 9:30 Club in Washington D.C. - the film captures the energy, poignancy and musicality of a Wilco concert and tour. Directed and produced by Brendan Canty and Christoph Green (Sunken Treasure, Burn to Shine).
We just obtained a brand new 4,800-lumen projector, and we're stoked to premier it on April 30th showing Ashes of American Flags. It's only $2 at the door, film starts promptly at 8:30pm.

Grizzly Bear added to Wilco show at Centennial Hall 6/18
This just in --
Melodic rockers Grizzly Bear were scheduled to perform at the Rialto Theatre on Thursday, June 18th, and it is certainly a show that we at the Rialto were excited about. However, we subsequently confirmed Wilco at Centennial Hall on June 18th, and we knew that it would create a problematic conflict for fans of both bands (not to mention us).
The solution was quite obvious.
We have now confirmed Grizzly Bear as the opening act for the Wilco show at Centennial.
People that have already purchased Grizzly Bear tickets should check their emails -- we'll be in touch with them about refunds, and also the way that we're going to ensure that those ticket purchasers will have an iron-clad crack at Wilco/Grizzly Bear tickets, assuming they want to purchase them.
Furthermore, we'll be planning an event at the Rialto that night for a post-Wilco celebration, the details of which will be forthcoming.
So now a night of amazing music courtesy of the mighty Wilco just got amazing-er.

SERGIO MENDOZA y la ORKESTA TO OPEN FOR OZOMATLI
Tucson's Sergio Mendoza y la Orkesta, who has been wowing local audiences since last fall's Great Cover Up with their impeccable blend of varying styles of Latin music, including the Big Band mambo sound of the 1940s, are confirmed as the opening act for Ozomatli this Friday, April 10th.
Here's the Phoenix New Times on Sergio y la Orkesta opening for Calexico last weekend at Heritage Square in downtown Phoenix:
""Stylish" is too weak a word to describe their act, which is possibly the most marketable show I've seen from an Arizona band. Starting just after 8, they played through a nice selection of mambos and updated Mariachi music without falling in to any cliched "Besame Mucho" moments."
Check out this video from their Decembe 29th performance opening for Calexico:
