Megadeth: Rust In Peace Tour with Testament and Exodus, 3/30
It's been whispered about, discussed and desired amongst the international thrash metal community, and finally it can be screamed loudly from rooftops, street-corners and car windows.
The mighty Megadeth will join forces with Testament and Exodus for this historic 'Rust in Peace' 20th anniversary tour, hitting The Rialto Theatre on Tuesday, March 30, 2010. This will be an incredibly special show that will delight Megadeth fans, as the band will be playing their landmark, genre-defining album, 1990's Rust in Peace, in its entirety, in addition to other Megadeth set list favorites.
Megadeth's latest, ENDGAME, was released in September 2009 and received some of the highest critical accolades of the band's career. The band performed on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and was nominated for yet another Grammy - the eight nomination of their storied career- for "Head Crusher." Megadeth also enjoyed heaps of praise in the press, from outlets as varied as New York to Revolver to VH1's "That Metal Show" to PopMatters. With ENDGAME, Megadeth have once again ascended to the top of the metal world.
Testament, the seminal Bay Area thrash titans, will perform their first-ever album 'The Legacy' in its entirety during the "RUST IN PEACE 20th Anniversary Tour" with Megadeth and Exodus . In this monstrously massive celebration of metal, Testament felt it was time to throw down the gauntlet and bring people back to the roots of their visceral and vice-tight music, re-invoking songs which helped lay the foundation for a thrash generation.
Tickets will go on sale Friday, January 29th at 10AM. Available by phone (520-740-1000) or at the box office (12-6pm M-F), at Bookmans Bookstore or at www.rialtotheatre.com. If you're a member, gain access to tickets 24 hours in advance!

Rialto in The New York Times
The Sunday edition of The New York Times featured a travel story titled "36 Hours in Tucson, Ariz." and we're pleased to be included in a great list of things to do and places to see that make Tucson special. Here's the quote:
Tucson has a jumping band scene on weekends, a sleepier one the other five days. On warm nights, the noise of music pumps through the open doors of restaurants and bars along Congress Street. The center of the action is often the historic Rialto Theater [sic] (318 East Congress Street; 520-740-1000; www.rialtotheatre.com). A nonprofit showcase vital to downtown's renewal, it books major acts but has no stylistic agenda (Sonic Youth is playing on Jan. 4, and Cowboy Mouth on Jan. 14).
Check out the full article HERE. Thanks to all of our patrons and members for helping The Rialto Theatre be the center of the action in downtown Tucson, Arizona. What a way to kick off the New Year!
