CHILDISH GAMBINO ANNOUNCES
NORTH AMERICAN SPRING TOUR
Debut Album CAMP Out Now

New York, NY - Glassnote Records is thrilled to announce that Childish Gambino will be hitting the road this Spring for an extensive North American tour, in support of his debut album CAMP. Following his sold-out "Sign Up" Tour this fall and dates on the travelling hip-hop festival Rock The Bells, Childish Gambino will hit 20 cities across the United States and Canada. Childish Gambino kicks off the "Camp" Tour in Atlanta, GA on March 16th at The Tabernacle and wraps on April 19th, at the Fox Theatre in Oakland, CA. Detroit rapper Danny Brown will open on all dates, with more shows to be confirmed in early 2012. Tickets for all announced shows will go on-sale to the public this week.

Childish Gambino released his Glassnote Records debut album CAMP on November 15th, 2011 and has emerged as one of the most exciting young talents in music. Landing at #11 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart and #2 on the Billboard Hip-Hop charts, CAMP has received critical acclaim from publications such as The Source, XXL, Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone, NPR and more. Childish Gambino, with his unique genre of og hip-hop and lyrical genius, has gone from a viral cult following to a mega sensation. The New Yorker praises, "With a vocal attack reminiscent of Pharcyde's Bootie Brown, Glover delivers rapid-fire stream-of-consciousness one-liners, along with in-depth and intelligent assessments of the recording industry, fame, and fortune."

Childish Gambino has released two mixtapes," I Am Just A Rapper" and "I Am Just A Rapper 2" and in March 2011, Childish Gambino released an untitled EP that featured the hit "Freaks and Geeks". Most recently, Childish Gambino wrapped the sold out "Sign Up" Tour and performed on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and CONAN. Childish Gambino is tearing up the airwaves as his single "Hearbeat" is seeing major support from KIIS Los Angeles, Power 106 Los Angeles and Hot 97 in New York. Up next for Childish Gambino is a performance on The Late Show with David Letterman on December 22nd.

PINK MARTINI COLLABORATES WITH SAORI YUKI
ON NEW RELEASE, 1969, OUT NOVEMBER 1
A RETROSPECTIVE, "BEST OF" COMPILATION OUT THE SAME DAY

Portland, Oregon based "little orchestra" Pink Martini and legendary Japanese singer Saori Yuki have collaborated to record 1969--a collection of songs from the year Yuki's debut album was released. The 12 tracks will be released November 1 on the band's own Heinz Records. In celebration of the record, Yuki will join the band on a series of special tour dates this December. See reverse for complete details.
Years ago in Portland, Pink Martini founder and pianist Thomas Lauderdale was thumbing through bins of records at Everyday Music when, intrigued by its gorgeous cover and interesting title (translated to "Scat In The Dark"), he snatched up Saori Yuki's debut album. Upon first listen he was immediately struck by Yuki's soaring soprano and the melodies on the album. Many years later, having never met Yuki, Lauderdale and Pink Martini recorded her song "Taya Tan" for their 2007 album Hey Eugene!
In early 2010, as Pink Martini was preparing for their first tour of Asia, they received a call from Yuki's manager saying that she had loved the band's rendition of "Taya Tan" and wanted to meet them when they came to Japan. This first meeting occurred in Tokyo when Yuki joined Pink Martini singer China Forbes on stage for a rendition of "Taya Tan." Later that year Yuki was invited to sing the first-ever Japanese version of "White Christmas" for Pink Martini's holiday album Joy To The World.
This past March, following the devastating earthquake and tsunami that decimated Japan, Lauderdale reached out to invite Yuki to join Pink Martini in Portland at a benefit performance for the relief efforts in Japan. During her visit to the States, Yuki and Pink Martini also went into the studio to record "Yuuzuki," a benefit track released by Starbucks and iTunes beginning the collaboration that ultimately would result in 1969.
"It was a great honor to be asked by Saori Yuki San & EMI Japan to work on this album," says Lauderdale. "The initial concept for the album was 'Japanese hits from 1969' but upon doing a bit of research we discovered that every country had something significant going on in 1969. So we decided to broaden the scope in a very Pink Martini way and include songs from around the world sung in different languages. The result is a gorgeous adventure back in time to the year 1969 featuring 12 songs sung in Japanese, French & English."
On November 1, in addition to 1969, Pink Martini will release a 21-track compilation album, A Retrospective (Heinz Records). The record features eight tracks previously unreleased in the U.S. along with alternative recordings of some of the band's most beloved songs. It also features guest appearances by Saori Yuki, French treasure Georges Moustaki, American icon Michael Feinstein, famed NYC DJ Johnny Dynell and Oscar-nominated film director Gus Van Sant (making his singing debut). The deluxe hardbound CD book features a 48-page booklet of never-before-seen polaroids taken by Lauderdale as well as rare postcards and posters from the band's 16-year history.

We regret to announce the 3 Guitar Heroes Tour with Michael Schenker, Uli Jon Roth and Leslie West has been cancelled. Please read the press release issued by the band:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE // October 10, 2011

SCHENKER, ROTH & WEST CANCEL 3 GUITAR HEROES TOUR
Transportation Complications Cited As Cause

Los Angeles --- Michael Schenker, Uli Jon Roth and Leslie West have been forced to postpone the 3 Guitar Heroes tour that was set to commence on October 6 in Norfolk, CT, due to insurmountable travel issues. When faced with securing a viable path for West¹s travel while still confined to a wheelchair, the search for a vehicle went on for months, and it has been called off. Last week, West was fitted with a prosthetic leg, but it will take months before he is able to live a normal life with the appendage, and there is no way to tour at this time without the security of the wheelchair he has been confined to post-amputation.
