7TH ANNUAL EEF SPELLING BEE
Educational Enrichment Foundation Announces Stellar Speller Lineup

TUCSON, ARIZ. – One notable Tucsonan in the Educational Enrichment Foundation’s 7th Annual Celebrity Spelling Bee lineup will emerge victorious, and teachers across Tucson Unified School District will win big. The Emcee for the evening will keep rivalries in check as proceeds from the event benefit classroom grants from EEF to teachers for classroom supplies, school projects, and desperately needed equipment. This year’s proceeds will also benefit EEF’s Interscholastic Scholarship program which pays fees allowing TUSD students to participate in Fine and Performing Arts, Sports, and Academic Clubs.

Competition has already heated up between the spellers who have plans to use social media to leverage their chances at the microphone. Spellers and their affiliations include:

AMALIA LUXARDO, Women’s Foundation Southern AZ
BRUCE BAILY, University of Arizona
CHRIS KISSEL, Sabino High School
SIERRA JONES, Miss Tucson Desert Rose
CURTIS MCCRARY, The Rialto Theatre
DEBBIE RICH, Girl Scouts Southern AZ

KENDAL WASHINGTON WHITE, University of Arizona
LORI ALEXANDER, Artist

MICHAEL CYRINO, AZ Complete Health
NANCY STANLEY, Comedian

EEF encourages all of Tucson to follow these spellers on social media to join in on the pre-Bee antics. EEF’s Celebrity Spelling Bee begins at 7 p.m. on April 13, 2019 at The Rialto Theatre, 318 E. Congress. Tickets will be available at The Rialto Theater for $25 for adults and $5 for children. Contributions to support your favorite Speller can be made at www.EEFTucson.org. Attendees are invited to the after party Spellabration at Club Congress immediately following the Bee.
