Blood Incantation

Interstellar death metallers Blood Incantation expand horizons with their newest 12-inch maxi single, Luminescent Bridge. Featuring "Obliquity of the Ecliptic" and "Luminescent Bridge," the two-track mind-bender plunges listeners into the depths of the abyss and the furthest reaches of space. Last year, Blood Incantation telegraphed their love of and respect for kosmische musik with their acclaimed instrumental album, Timewave Zero. Luminescent Bridge is yet another stepping stone into the group's final form.
"Obliquity of the Ecliptic" is voidward death metal—crushingly opaque, mysterious, and inquisitive. The side-A track builds off the finer points of albums Starspawn (2016) Hidden History of the Human Race (2019), but the cosmogonic regality adds new dimensions to Blood Incantation's ever-widening framework. On side-B, "Luminescent Bridge" pivots to the introspection of infinity. Created entirely in the studio, the nine-minute track plays out like a dying star—ominous, forlorn, yet hopeful of rebirth.
Luminescent Bridge was recorded at Rocky Mountain Recorders Studio (Denver, Colorado) with Chris McNaughton. Arthur Rizk (e.g. Kreator) mixed and mastered. Renowned sci-fi/fantasy artist Steve R. Dodd painted the cover art for Luminescent Bridge.
The band says, "As for what's to come, it is safe to say that people haven't seen anything yet when it comes to what Blood Incantation is capable of. But for the time being, they must cross this short bridge first."

Midwife

Madeline Johnston is a self taught multi-instrumentalist and recording engineer, currently based in Southern Colorado by way of Denver, where she spent the last decade+ developing her sound and focusing on her artistic community. Midwife began while Madeline was a resident of the beloved DIY space Rhinoceropolis in 2014. She has released four albums with The Flenser, most recently, No Depression In Heaven (2024), which received National and International acclaim. On stage, Johnston is known for her sparse, emotionally charged experimental pop music that can silence a room. On record, she produces intricate and lush sonic environments in her own little corner of the heavy music scene. She describes her sound as "Heaven Metal," AKA emotional music about devastation: catharsis. Johnston writes primarily about grief, and the many faces it can inhabit.
