Sharpie Smile

Dylan Hadley and Cole Berliner formed Kamikaze Palm Tree in their hometown of San Francisco in 2015. Being lifelong friends and collaborators, the duo imagined a debut album and performance style that brings together their noise rock background with the theatrical and the epic. The band signed to Muddguts in 2019 and released their first record Good Boy to critical acclaim. In 2022, Drag City welcomed them to their label with the release of the band’s latest mutant pop record Mint Chip. Since the release of Mint Chip, they’ve opened for the likes of Wilco, King Gizzard and the Lizzard Wizard, and Sleaford Mods. Shapeshifting from Kamikaze Palm Tree to Sharpie Smile, the duo are creating a new world for themselves, merging their nostalgic melodies with their electronic side, embodying a sound which is the true essence of being “distant”. Bringing forth this new energy, they are currently working on another record— stay tuned for their latest release.
