Lilliana Villines was raised by an astrologer, a birthday clown, and an insurance agent in Van Nuys, California. Her songs are built upon absurdist themes and chaotic living conditions, with lyrics derived from dream logs and day jobs. Her debut album ‘The Mids’ focused on the secret worlds in hidden corners of the San Fernando Valley. The collection was described as “songs about superpowers and supermarket parking lots”. Her latest release ‘Subject to Dust’ takes inspiration from deserts and chaparral landscapes, and the stark divide between wilderness and man made monoliths. The collection ranges emotionally from love to loss, meeting people in dreams, and looming instability. She is currently working on her next full length album along with her band, consisting of Eli Goss, Jimmy McElravy, and Maximilian Sink.
